Senior Design Engineer / Technical Lead – Rolling Mill & Process Line Machinery

We are hiring a Senior Design Engineer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in heavy industrial machinery design and steel strip processing equipment. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in concept development, machine layout planning, and technical execution of rolling mill and process line machinery. Key Responsibilities: Lead complete mechanical design activities for rolling mill and process line machinery Finalize machine concepts, layouts, and technical execution plans Review and approve detailed engineering and fabrication drawings Ensure manufacturability and practical feasibility of machine designs Coordinate with production, electrical, project, and fabrication teams Handle technical discussions, solution planning, and design optimization Conduct vendor technical evaluations and support procurement activities Resolve complex design and engineering challenges during execution Mentor and guide junior design engineers and technical team members Support machine trials, testing, and technical validation activities Required Qualifications: Minimum 10+ years of specialized experience in heavy industrial machinery design Strong experience in rolling mill machinery, slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, and coil processing equipment Hands-on expertise in Autodesk Inventor for machine assemblies and layouts Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and detailed engineering drawings Experience with engineering calculations and machine load considerations Strong understanding of industrial machinery manufacturing processes Ability to independently take technical and engineering decisions Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities Preferred Skills: Experience in galvanizing or colour coating lines Exposure to steel strip processing equipment and heavy fabrication structures Leadership experience managing design engineering teams will be an added advantage
